Principal Scientist up to Director Biology (San Diego, CA)
This role requires significant experience in small molecule drug discovery and demonstration of project leadership.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of Principal Scientist or Director Biology include, but are not limited to:

Act as a research project leader and oversee biology aspects of small molecule drug discovery projects.

Design and lead execution of assay development, drug screening, pharmacology, and work with external collaborations to achieve project goals and timeline.

Coordinate internal and external efforts and resources on multiple projects; Actively engage in collaboration with co-workers and external collaborators.

Communicate clearly to stakeholders through oral and written communications, participate in scientific and technical meetings.

Serve as the internal leader on project related scientific and technical advances.

Actively participate in scientific and technical innovations in the company.

Mentor and supervise junior scientists.

The Person
The key skills and qualifications are:

A PhD in Biological Sciences and closely related fields with 6+ years of small molecule drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.

Demonstrated domain expertise and leadership in small molecule drug discovery projects that led to clinical drug candidates is required.
-
Extensive hands-on experience with modern cell molecular biology, protein biochemistry, biophysics, and/or pharmacology, and their applications in bioassay development and drug discovery is required.

Deep understanding and prior experience in genetic disease biology, in vivo pharmacology, assay development, and compound screening is required.

Self-motivated, strong work ethics, passion for furthering science and medicine.

Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, eager to learn and continuously improve, and a dedication to quality and integrity.

Effective and professional communication skills, written and oral, and aptitude for problem solving and technical writing.

Lab Manager (San Diego, CA)
This role requires hands-on experience with biotechnology and experience with lab management.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of Research Associate Scientist – Biology include, but are not limited to:

Establish and manage laboratory process, maintain appropriate lab certifications, and coordinate laboratory activities

Establish standard operating procedures and laboratory documentation
-
Maintenance and repair of instrumentation (LC, liquid handler, mass spec, imager, etc.)

Staff training on instrumentation when needed

Act as the safety officer for the company

Design and conduct hands-on biochemical experiments to achieve project goals and timeline when needed

A BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and closely related fields with 1+ year of industry drug discovery experience

Prior experience working in a biology lab is required
